Bausch + Lomb’s Storz CapsuleGuard single-use instruments offer cataract surgeons a wide range of options for both incisions and techniques for irrigation and aspiration (I/A). The handpieces are designed with smooth I/A ports to help eliminate sharp edges for reduced risk of capsule rupture. The flexible, silicone-tip design facilitates cortex removal, capsule polishing, viscoelastic removal, and intraocular lens manipulation in the capsular bag. The semi-transparent silicone sleeve also enhances visualisation.
The instruments are designed for standard incisions (2.2-2.8mm) and for microincisions (1.8mm), and are available in three convenient single-use configurations – straight, curved and 45°. The Storz CapsuleGuard IA line is compatible with Bausch + Lomb’s Stellaris Elite Vision Enhancement System as well as other ophthalmic surgical platforms.
