Tongan Royalty thanks Specsavers’ Glasses Recycling Program

Specsavers, together with her Royal Highness Princess Lātūfuipeka Tukuʻaho, Lions Recycle for Sight and optometrist Defini Tau’alupe-Tai from Specsavers Belconnen, ACT, have collected 100,000 pairs of quality-tested and pre-owned glasses to send to the people of Tonga.

The glasses were collected through Specsavers’ nationwide glasses recycling program which, in partnership with Lions Recycle for Sight, delivers quality glasses and sunglasses to people in need overseas. The collected eyewear will be gifted to people in Tonga who might not have had access otherwise.

Her Royal Highness Princess Lātūfuipeka Tukuʻaho, a Tongan royal member of the House of Tupou, says “mālō ‘aupito”, which translates to “thank you”, to all those involved.
