New Members for Eyecare Plus

Three Eyecare Plus practices have changed hands this month.

Eyecare Plus General Manager Philip Rose said having three practices recently sell to independent owners and remain as members of Eyecare Plus is a “great achievement”.

“There are a number of corporates buying up optometry practices and it is important that we preserve independent optometry,” Mr Rose said.

Fady Abraham, who had been working at Eyecare Plus Cranbourne in Melbourne for eight years, has purchased the practice from his “mentors”, David and Carol West.

… there is always a place for independent optometrist practitioners who are devoted to build long-term relationships

“I was hired by David and Carol, both of whom I consider my mentors. We are clinically focussed, have the same views on patient care and are passionate about providing the best solutions to our patients,” Mr Abraham said.

Mr West will continue to consult in the practice.

Still in Melbourne, Flora Luk has purchased Eyecare Plus Cheltenham from Randal Lamont, who will continue to work part time in the practice.

Ms Luk studied optometry in Melbourne and completed an internship at State University of New York. After gaining six years of clinical optometry experience, Flora decided it was time to become a practice owner.
