The Cylite HP-OCT is an Australian-made optical coherence tomography (OCT) system based on patented next-generation hyperparallel principles. The HP-OCT utilises 1,008 simultaneous scanning beamlets, captured in a series of snapshot frames, to create highly accurate volumetric images of the eye that are insensitive to eye motion artefacts. This means eye tracking software is not required, which is especially important in the anterior segment, where eye tracking is very challenging.
Since the biometry scan is 16.8mm wide and 11mm deep, each scan encompasses the entire anterior segment, from the cornea to the crystalline lens. One use of these versatile images is for cataract, where three-dimensional details of the crystalline lens are revealed clearly and can be used for both clinical purposes as well as effective patient education.
