Optos Australia has expanded its team, engaging Renee Slunjski in the newly created role of Regional Product Specialist. Ms Slunjski has six years’ clinical experience in private practice in Adelaide and sits on the Optometry Board of Australia.
As Regional Product Specialist, Ms Slunjski will use her clinical experience to assist practitioners with optimal use of optomap devices and software, run education sessions, and provide continual support to customers.
She also plans to use the Optos portfolio to collaborate with optometrists and ophthalmologists in clinical studies, and to develop models to improve care for Australians living in rural and remote areas.
“We have a common goal as clinicians to look out for our patients, and for each other and it’s equipment like optomap that, when used correctly, can help prevent disability and reduce the pressure on the Australian healthcare system,” Ms Slunjski said.
Growing up in Adelaide, Ms Slunjski graduated with a Master of Optometry from Flinders University in 2016 and is endorsed in ocular therapeutics. She went on to complete a Graduate Certificate in Management and is working towards completing her Master Business Administration.
While studying, Ms Slunjski had placement experience in remote Aboriginal communities, in Nepal on an eye camp through Rotary, and at the State University of New York (SUNY). Before joining Optos, she practiced for an independent optometry group in metropolitan Adelaide.
