Registration Open for Optical Dispensers Conference

Registration is now open for the inaugural Optical Dispensers Australia industry conference, which takes place in Sydney from Friday 28 – Saturday 29 April 2023.

Set to be a biennial event, the conference has been created by dispensers for dispensers and will take place at the iconic Sydney Masonic Centre. Single-day and two-day passes are available.

Along with a series of presentations by experts in lens design and dispensing, attendees will have the opportunity to engage with trade partners, and network with colleagues.

The conference will kick off with a presentation on increasing practice revenue through upselling, by Tokai Optical General Manager, Justin Chiang. Dr Vincet Nguyen from UTS will speak on functional implications of clinical vision tests, while Nabill Jacob will present on vision impaired patients.

Lenses are covered with Glen Jones from Hoya speaking on occupational lens needs; Nicky Peaper from Rodenstock on improving lens performance, and Zoe Ross from the New Zealand Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Board on progressive lenses.

Other speakers include Lisa Raad, Pinpoint Vision; Dr Alex Holden, Sydney University; Jessica Kingley, Zeiss; Chris Hanley, De Rigo; Lou Thomas, ODA; and Craig Johnston, Younger Optics.

In combination with the ODA Conference, the ODA Gala will be the feature event for the eve of Friday 28 – showcasing the inaugural ODA Excellence Awards and playing host to the dispensing industry’s Graduation Ceremony. The ODA Gala will celebrate all aspects of the optical dispensing industry in style at one of Sydney’s most iconic venues, Luna Park Sydney.

The ODA Conference is open to all optical industry members alike, and is an event not to be missed.
