Vision Eye Institute’s Dr Devinder Chauhan and Dr Alex Tan will provide an update on developments in treatment of geographic atrophy (GA), at a free continuing professional development (CPD) seminar in Melbourne.
The CPD seminar has been accredited for 1.75T hours by Optometry Australia IoE Quality Assurance.
A series of discussions, case studies, practical tips, and patient/caregiver perspectives will be used on the night to cover topics such as:
- GA pathology and disease progression,
- Patient discovery: GA detection in the optometry clinic and practical tips on how to ‘break the news’,
- Referral and treatment: who, when and why,
- Patient and caregiver support: practical, psychological and emotional, and
- Co-management: setting up successful ophthalmology/optometry teams.

The event will be held from 6pm on Tuesday 30 May at Rock Art Events, 118 Rokeby St in Collingwood. Registration includes a light dinner.
