O=MEGA and the 4th World Congress of Optometry (WCO4) program has been released, with almost 100 sessions including a new ‘masterclass’ format featuring separate streams for dispensing and practice management.
The conference will be held in Melbourne from 8–10 September. Organisers are labelling the conference a “game-changer”, saying it brings together experts and professionals from the optometric community around the world for a unique opportunity to share knowledge, research, and ideas.
Optical Distributors and Manufacturers Association (ODMA) Chief Executive Officer Amanda Trotman said that O=MEGA23/WCO4 will offer tailored content for all roles within a practice.
The program features a diverse range of topics and themes, including professional practice, Indigenous eye health, traumatic brain injury, public health, systemic disease, optometric education, and myopia management.
Keynote speaker James Wolffsohn, a Professor of Optometry at Aston University since 2000, will present to delegates about ‘The Power of Consensus’.
“My address is about feeling secure in how you practice, giving your patients a better service, and embracing change in a safe and secure way,” Professor Wolffsohn said.
The conference will also feature the O=MEGA Trade Fair, showcasing the latest technologies, products, and services within the sector.
The bi-annual O=MEGA event is the biggest in the Southern Hemisphere, while the World Congress of Optometry is an international event hosted in a different city across the world, also on a bi-annual basis. More information is available at omega-event.org/program.
