Glaucoma NZ Professional Symposium 30 July 2023

Glaucoma New Zealand will host an education event for optometrists, nurses, GPs, and ophthalmic technicians on Sunday 30 July.

With Professor Helen Danesh-Meyer overseeing the scientific programme, this is an event you cannot afford to miss.

The keynote address, on the evidence behind the keto diet, neuroinflammation and glaucoma will be delivered Dr Ridia Lim, a glaucoma specialist at Sydney Eye Hospital and a director of Hunter Street Eye Specialists in Sydney. Dr Lim is the Vice Chair of ANZGS (the Australian and New Zealand Glaucoma Society) and head of the glaucoma unit at Sydney Eye Hospital. She is on the Scientific Programme Executive Committee for RANZCO and is a past examiner for RANZCO.

Other speakers from both ophthalmology and optometry will deliver more excellent content, interactive sessions with rapid-fire presentations and panel discussions on topics ranging from practical tips for visual fields and optical coherence tomography, normal tension glaucoma, clinical markers for glaucoma progression, the role of selective laser trabeculoplasty in glaucoma care, exercise and glaucoma, IOP spikes following avastin and more.

There will be ample opportunity to interact with sponsors. The symposium has been accredited for 6.75 GE or general points.
