Gelflex supports optometrists by helping to develop unique contact lens solutions to improve people’s lives.
Recently, for example, the lab developed a scleral lens in collaboration with Dr Ivan Hare in Israel. The lens was for one of his patients, a two-month-old infant with a limbal dermoid. Dr Hare provided his service and expertise pro bono.

The lens helped prevent the development of amblyopia and allowed the baby to reach an age old enough to safely undergo surgery to remove the dermoid.
Gelflex encourages optometrists to work with their lab technicians to develop speciality lenses.
