Maui Jim, the eyewear company that started selling sunglasses on Ka’anapali beach in Lahaina, Maui, is extending its support to the Maui community in the aftermath of the devastating fires that have struck the town.
Maui Jim has a store and office in the town of Lahaina and still designs and tests its sunglasses there.
The death toll from the Maui wildfires stands at 101 and is expected to rise as many others remain missing. It is estimated about 80% of Lahaina structures have been razed in the fire.
In 2022, Maui Jim became part of Kering Eyewear.

Kering Eyewear and Maui Jim are donating to the Hawaii Community Foundation’s Maui Strong Fund as an immediate contribution to assist those affected by the disaster, and to support the rebuilding efforts of those impacted by the wildfires.

The front page of Maui Jim’s website carries the hashtag #LahainaStrong and calls for donations to be made to Strong Fund, the Hawaii Community Foundation’s Maui Strong Fund.
