Options to Fully Fund Franchise Partners

Up to 100% finance is now available for selected candidates who want to become franchise partners of the Options Optometrists group.

With franchises in Western Australia operating over the past 15 years, Options co-founder Lance Schaffer is keen to engage with potential partners around the country who are interested in joining the group in its national expansion program.

“We often find great people, but they can’t access the capital… this opportunity will change the game,” said Mr Schaffer.

Options offers a 100% ownership or partnership model with full finance options available to optometrists, along with other finance solutions to non-optometrists who want to join the group.

“My interest is in giving eye care professionals the opportunity to have their own practice… to empower them to be the best they can be. They will be building an asset for themselves and be in control of their own destiny,” said Mr Schaffer.

Mr Schaffer said it is an exciting time to get involved.

“Because we’re new (outside Western Australia) and expanding, a franchisee can open in a location that works for them – our priority is to first find the franchisee and then the location, so it’s much a better fit geographically for our franchisees.”

He said all potential partners are carefully selected to ensure they share the same “work/life balance and people first ethos”, and once they open their new store they will join the Options Optometrists’ advisory board, where every franchisee is encouraged to contribute to strategy and decision making. “This makes the business much more collaborative rather than having decisions driven by a top-down approach,” he observed.

Mr Schaffer said Options’ business model provides owners with flexibility to choose the level of optical equipment they want to practice with, the brands of contact lenses they wish to prescribe, and the individual models of frames they offer from licenced suppliers.

He said optometry partners all practice general optometry but are “encouraged to specialise in any clinical interest they choose, such as myopia control or paediatrics, as this enables them to remain stimulated, grow professionally, and also allows internal group referrals”.
