Welcome to mivision’s seventh annual myopia issue. When reflecting on our previous myopia issues, it’s clear that the profession has come a long way in its understanding of, and ability to treat this disease and yet, as Professor Arthur Ho told me in an interview, we still have far to go.
Thank you to all of the contributors to this issue and particularly to Dr Kate Gifford who, having successfully launched the inaugural global Myopia Awareness Month and moved house, juggled her crammed diary to be our guest editor.
It’s been an exciting year at mivision. We have made inroads into the Asian market, launched a digital magazine (with distinct versions for registered eye health professionals vs non-registered) and a video production service to help our clients communicate their messages in dynamic format.
Our printed journal continues to maintain its position of strength in the Australian and New Zealand markets, offering the latest clinical, fashion and business news, professional advice, and CPD content written by the most highly respected eye care professionals and academics around.
As we wrap up for the year, I’d like to thank every contributor to mivision. We are fortunate to be able to draw on so many influential members of the eye health community who generously give their time to share their expertise by writing articles that will grow the profession.
Thank you also to our advertisers who enable mivision to be published online and in print, and our readers for your continued support.
Finally, on behalf of Todd Tai and myself, thank you to Nikki, Simon, Kirsten, Michelle, Maren, and Dione, as well as our print partner Dean Slater at SpecialT, who together ensure mivision continues to be delivered to readers in Australia, New Zealand and Asia, online and in print. We’re a dedicated, highly supportive (and great fun) team.
I wish you all the best for the festive season.
Enjoy this issue. We look forward to bringing you more in 2024.
