Offered by the School of Optometry and Vision Science at UNSW Sydney, this short course has been designed elevate practitioners’ skills, from understanding early visual system development to diagnosing common childhood eye conditions.
The bite-sized program, offered remotely over six weeks, will enable working optometrists to build knowledge and confidence in paediatric eye care. Additionally, it will provide the opportunity for 30 CPD hours at relatively low cost with manageable time commitment that can be structured around your work schedule.
This course is scheduled to run from 05 Feb 2024 through to 18 March 2024.

Dry Eye Disease Management: Diagnosis and Management
A short course on Dry Eye Disease: Diagnosis and Management is scheduled to run from 8 March to 5 April 2024.
Designed and presented in a collaboration with UNSW Medicine & Health Short Courses and the UNSW School of Optometry & Vision Science, this course will increase practitioners’ confidence and ability to diagnose and sub-type dry eye disease, and to differentially diagnose from other conditions such as blepharitis, neuropathic ocular pain and neurotrophic conditions. This practical Short Course has been approved by Optometry Australia (OA) for the Institute of Excellence Quality Assurance (CPD) for 30Ti.
The course will also equip practitioners with the skills to manage dry eye disease with both therapeutic and non-therapeutic options, and to critically appraise the literature regarding new therapies as they are introduced. By the end of the course, participants will have the tools, knowledge and insight required to diagnose and manage patients with dry eye disease within their own practices, and with the skills to stay abreast of the constant changes in the field.
