Focus Vitreoretinal Symposium: 22-23 March 2024, Sydney

Ophthalmologists are invited to attend Focus VR 2024 – a two-day clinical symposium for ophthalmologists hosted by Alcon, from 22-23 March at the Hyatt Regency in Sydney.

Targeting the vitreoretinal community, Focus VR 2024 has been crafted to elevate clinical expertise with rapid-fire topics, immersive video presentations of surgical cases, and thought-provoking panel-led discussions that promote the sharing of innovative strategies regarding the art and craft of surgical management in complex vitreoretinal cases.

The steering committee for this two-day event is Professor Andrew Chang AM (Sydney Eye Hospital), Professor Ivan Ho (Sydney Eye Hospital and Macquarie University), and Dr Sarah Welsh (Auckland Eye Hospital).

Attending virtually will be keynote speaker Dr Steve Charles, Founder of Charles Retina Institute Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology, University of Tennessee.

A dinner and the Retina Film Festival will take place following the conference.

Disease Management Session
• Medium term PFO (Perfluoro-n-octane) for inferior retinal detachments, inferior, temporal and nasal giant retinal breaks
• Why extended vitreous base laser is better than a scleral buckle for inferior retinal detachments.
