Optical Creativity Celebrated with ODMA Frame Awards

A new awards program by the Optical Distributors and Manufacturers Association (ODMA) has been announced, celebrating the fun, fashion, and creative dimension that frames bring to the optical industry.

ODMA Chief Executive Officer Amanda Trotman said the awards “aim to spotlight the significant contribution that frames make to the comfort, eyecare, and visual appeal provided to its wearers”.

Award categories will be Most Outstanding Newly Released Frame RRP under AU$300 and Most Outstanding Newly Released Frame for $330 and over.

In a departure from tradition, the judging process will adopt a ‘People’s Choice’ approach, with ODMA calling for votes on nominated products through its social and media channels. Voters will be asked to consider factors such as if the frame is on-trend, the frame’s colour appeal, materials used, the shape, customer value, comfort, practicality of the frame, and ease of fitting. Participants in the voting process will also enter a prize draw.

All entries will be displayed at O-SHOW 24, to be held from 17–18 May at the Hordern Pavillion in Sydney, with winners will be announced during a networking event on the first evening.

Voters will be asked to consider factors such as if the frame is on-trend, the frame’s colour appeal, materials used, the shape, customer value, comfort, practicality of the frame, and ease of fitting.

Award submissions are open to all ODMA frame supply members, not just those exhibiting at O-SHOW24. Nominations are open now and will close on 12 April.

Submission forms are available by emailing Vivienne Forbes: [email protected].
