The Australasian College of Behavioural Optometry will host its national conference themed, ‘Connect 2024 – Patient and Practice Success’ at the Crowne Plaza on the Gold Coast from 6– 7 July 2024.
The keynote speakers are Dr Brenda Montecalvo from Ohio in the United States and Dr Angela Peddle from Canada.
This conference is an opportunity for members and colleagues to:

More About the Speakers
Dr Brenda Montecalvo
Dr Brenda Montecalvo has held specialised certification in optometric vision therapy for over 30 years. A highly sought after practitioner and lecturer, she has dedicated her life to helping adults and children overcome their vision problems.
In 2023 she received the G.N. Getman Award from the College of Optometrist in Vision Development (COVD). Dr Montecalvo is the President of the College of Syntonic Optometry, Past President of the Ohio Optometric Association, Chair of the American Optometric Association Vision Rehabilitation Section, and Past President of the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association. She frequently lectures internationally to general and developmental optometrists about neuro-optometric rehabilitation, optometric vision therapy, and therapeutic lens prescribing.
Dr Angela Peddle OD FCOVD
Dr Peddle practises with four optometrists and vision therapists near Toronto Canada, providing full scope optometry with a focus on vision therapy, neuro-rehabilitation, sports vision enhancement, paediatrics and special needs examinations. She is the founding president of the Canadian Optometrists in Vision Therapy and Rehabilitation, now Vision Therapy Canada, which provides ACBO’s PVT program for Canadian optometrists and vision therapists. She was the first private practice optometrist in Canada to offer a residency program in vision therapy and rehabilitation for Canadian optometrists.
Dr Peddle has published articles and posters on strabismus, amblyopia, and learning-related vision problems. She is also an international lecturer, offering courses in vision therapy techniques, oculomotor dysfunctions, binocular vision, and research in strabismus and amblyopia therapy.
