HOYA has introduced a suite of digital systems and applications to help optometry practices transform the patient experience.
HOYA Digital Fitting (HDF) is an iPad video centration application that takes accurate and precise position of wear (POW) measurements, as well as simulating the lens design to support optimal dispensing. According to HOYA, the application is designed to deliver a comfortable and technologically advanced experience for every patient.
Some of the key measurements provided by HOYA Digital Fitting include:
- Monocular pupillary distance,
- Fitting heights,
- Corneal vertex distance,
- Pantoscopic tilt,
- Reading distance and position,
- Frame dimensions and effective diameter,
- Seg heights for bifocal lenses, and
- Eyepoint for aspheric lenses.
The HOYA Digital Fitting App eliminates the need for a jig or additional attachment thanks to the LiDAR scanner integrated into the iPad Pro. The app requires only one photo for fitting measurements and one for reading distance and position.

Delivers a unique patient experience: Augmented reality 3D lens simulation enables patients to clearly see the benefits of the lens designs. In addition, dispensing tools such as minimum size uncut assist in lens selection.
Assists with optimal frame and lens combination: An advanced lens simulator vividly illustrates lens design and thickness in the context of various frame shapes and materials, allowing patients to visualise how the lens will appear in the chosen frame.
Minimises errors to reduce remakes: The app enables speed, precision and accuracy when taking measurements. It also features the centration charts of HOYA lens designs and corridor lengths to align with the measured distance and reading position. Its consistency is shown by reliably taking precise measurements, which in turn decreases errors and lowers the necessity for remakes.
Seamlessly transfers patient data to HOYA Consultation Centre: HOYA Digital Fitting seamlessly transfers the patient’s fitting measurements to the HOYA Consultation Centre 360 App (HCC360). This guarantees a seamless and professional experience for both the practice and the patient.
