Third and Final year University of Melbourne Doctor of Optometry students recently attended a Student Manufacturer’s event hosted by the Cornea and Contact Lens Society (CCLSA) Victoria.
The annual event enables students to meet with and learn about the products that the manufacturers supply by visiting their tables as well as listening to a series of one minute quick fire presentations.
Jessica Chi, President of CCLSA Victoria, said the evening was a valuable – but fun – learning opportunity for the students, who will soon be in the workplace.
“We had about 50 students in attendance and as well as hearing from manufacturers, they got to learn about the CCLSA. We went through some cases and played trivia; it was a really fun night!”
The Student Manufacturer’s event was held on Tuesday 3 September at the Oxford Scholar Hotel. The sponsors were AFT, Alcon, CooperVision, CSL Seqirus, Designs for Vision, Eyespace, Gelflex, Good Optical, Johnson & Johnson, Optimed, Menicon and Substance HQ.
