EssilorLuxottica, in partnership with the World Council of Optometry (WCO), will host a series of live sessions titled ‘Presbyopia and Aging Eye’ from 4-6 December 2024.
Each live session will be hosted on EssilorLuxottica’s learning platform, Leonardo.
Event Overview: Presbyopia and Aging Eye
Session 1: Presbyopia and Aging Eye – Mitigation
4 December at 7pm or 11pm, or 5 December at 5am AEST.
This session will explore the public health impact of presbyopia, focusing on the latest research, prevalence, and key factors like physiological and psychological changes.

Speakers: Professor Fan Lu (China), Tim Fricke (Australia), and Professor Kovin Naidoo (South Africa).
Session 2: Presbyopia and Aging Eye – Measurement
5 December at 7pm or 11pm, or 6 December at 5am AEST.
This session will focus on the visual needs related to lifestyle and how to effectively measure presbyopia’s impact to provide tailored vision solutions.
Hosts: Dimple Zala (UK), Dr Cindy Tromans (UK).
Speakers: Professor Pete Kollbaum (USA), Professor Monica Chaudhry (India), Professor Shehzad Naroo (UK), and Professor Leon Davies (UK).
Session 3: Presbyopia and the Aging Eye – Management
6 December at 7pm or 11pm, and 7 December at 5am AEST.
This final session will take a deep dive into presbyopia management, exploring the various vision correction options suited to individual visual and lifestyle needs.
Hosts: Dimple Zala (UK) and Dr Cindy Tromans (UK).
Speakers: Dr Nicolas Gilberg (USA), Professor José Manuel González-Méijome (Portugal), and Grant Hannaford (Australia).
