Are you an optometrist who assesses older adults for their driving fitness?
Researchers at University of New South Wales (UNSW)and Neuroscience Research Australia (NeuRA) are conducting a research study aimed at reducing road trauma in Australia.
Led by Professor Kaarin Anstey, the project is focussed on identifying key practice needs and knowledge gaps to evaluate resources developed that support older driver assessment and management, and to ensure these resources meet the needs of stakeholders.
Titled, Evaluation and implementation of evidence-based resources for ageing and driving safety, the research study is looking to recruit people who meet the following criteria:
• Currently practicing as an optometrist and assists with assessing driving fitness in their clinical setting,
• Living in Australia,
• Proficient in English, and has
• Access to the internet and email.
the project is focussed on identifying key practice needs and knowledge gaps to evaluate resources developed that support older driver assessment and management, and to ensure these resources meet the needs of stakeholders
Participants will be asked to complete a 15-minute online questionnaire and on completion, a AU$50 e-gift card will be emailed in appreciation of their time.
The study is approved to run from 19 September 2024 to 18 September 2029. Reference number: iRECS7160.
