The Australian and New Zealand Eye Foundation (ANZEF) has opened its 2025 Grant Round, with grants of up to AU$50,000 available for professionals working in eye health, global health, and ophthalmic education.
ANZEF, which is the philanthropic arm of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO), aims to support education, research, and awareness/advocacy projects that demonstrate the potential for meaningful impact to address eye health inequities and improve access to eye care for Australian, New Zealand or Asia-Pacific communities.
Focus areas may include (but are not limited to): Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (First Nations), Māori and Pacific eye health; growing the ophthalmology workforce in those people groups; cultural safety in the delivery of eye care; rural and remote eye health; and global eye health collaboration and development.
Projects must be delivered in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Indonesia, Tonga, Tuvalu, Kiribati, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Timor-Leste, Vanuatu, Samoa or Nauru.

Selection Criteria
The ANZEF grants are available to members and associates of RANZCO as well organisations and professionals working in eye health and ophthalmic education.
Guidelines on the ANZEF grant round as well as an online application form are available on the ANZEF website.
Applications opened today and will close on Monday 7 April, with successful recipients announced in September.
