Northern Territory Committee to Advise OA

Optometry Australia (OA) has established a Northern Territory Advisory Committee (NTAC), to provide input into the work of the Association, and contribute to the future of optometry and eye care in the Northern Territory.

The inaugural committee comprises seven OA members appointed following a call for expressions of interest in 2024: Georgia Bennett, Jack Gooden, Teagan Legmann, Josiah Murphy, Helen Summers, Lien Trinh, and Annee Yogarajah.

By offering a local perspective, it is anticipated that the committee will help shape the development of resources and strategies that benefit the optometry community

The NTAC is charged with providing advice on issues relevant to the NT, including emerging issues in optometry and eye care, clinical and technical optometric advice and feedback and policy issues and advocacy strategies.

By offering a local perspective, it is anticipated that the committee will help shape the development of resources and strategies that benefit the optometry community.

The initial meeting has been scheduled for mid-March. Any members who wish to know more, or want to know how to contribute or participate, can contact Optometry Australia’s Advancement team at policy@optometry.org.au
