Macular Degeneration New Zealand (MDNZ) walks alongside health professionals to get the best outcomes for patients with age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
MDNZ aims to reduce the incidence and impact of AMD by working along the continuum of patient care.
- Early Intervention: Awareness and information – presentations, media articles, expos, eye health resources and primary healthcare training.
- Treatment: Patient information resources, Helpline (support with queries and patient adherence); newsletters for updates on living with the disease.
- Rehabilitation: Patient support and referrals to low vision services.
