Dry Eye Society Wet Lab: Brisbane Training Event

The Dry Eye Society will host its first members only wet lab for the new membership year, delivering advanced, hands-on clinical training in dry eye management. Existing and new members are welcome to attend.

The wet lab will provide tailored dry eye management education using the latest equipment and evidence-based techniques. Attendees will benefit from bespoke, practical guidance provided by some of Australia’s leading experts in dry eye care.

Jason Holland

Jason Holland is the President of the Dry Eye Society and the founder of The Eye Health Centre in Brisbane, an advanced dry eye clinic that manages challenging patients using the latest technology.

The recipient of the Optometry Australia Queensland Optometrist of the Year award in 2018, he has lectured on contact lenses and dry eye in Australia and across South-East Asia.

Shaina Zheng

Shaina Zheng is the co-owner of Eyecare Plus Mermaid Beach. Having personally faced the challenges of dry eye disease, she delivers personalised, evidence-based care tailored to each patient’s unique needs. Ms Zheng stays at the forefront of innovation, using advanced treatments and technologies to provide effective solutions that improve patient outcomes.

Beyond her clinical practice, she is an advocate for community awareness, engaging in public speaking, media outreach, and educational initiatives.

Hugh Bradshaw

Hugh Bradshaw is the Director of Heron Eyecare in Toowoomba, an established state-of-the-art dry eye clinic that uses Lumenis M22 IPL and RexonEye QMR dry eye treatments.

Mr Bradshaw’s specialty contact lens practice also incorporates scleral lenses as a vital treatment for advanced dry eye. As a therapeutically endorsed optometrist, he regularly uses prescription medications for dry eye sufferers.

Mark Hinds

Mark Hinds is the owner of Mark Hinds Optometrists, a full-scope private practice and clinical trial centre in Teneriffe, Brisbane. He has dedicated specialty contact lenses, myopia control, and dry eye clinics (with a lead PhD qualified dry eye practitioner).

Mr Hinds is one of the principal investigators at Ophthalmic Trials Australia (OTA) and has numerous publications on his team’s work on pharmacological interventions, notably for dry eye disease. OTA is one of Australia’s leading private dry eye clinical trial sites with numerous Phase 1 and 2 clinical trials completed and ongoing.  He is a sessional lecturer at the School of Optometry and Vision Science at Queensland University of Technology (QUT).

Phuc Ngo

Phuc Ngo graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Optometry) in 2004 at QUT. In the early stage of his career, he worked in private practices and large corporations. He participated in locum work around Australia before settling back in Brisbane and joining the optometry team at The Eye Health Centre.
