Volunteers Needed: Global Hand Outreach

Global Hand Charity is seeking optometrists and optical dispensers to volunteer their time for an outreach program in beautiful Sri Lanka.

Working with local Rotary Clubs, the eye camp will run for one week at the end of February 2026 in the remote communities of Kalpitiya and Ratnapura, to provide eye care and glasses to people with limited access to health services.

GHC has been conducting eye care outreach programs since 2017 in remote communities of Laos, Cambodia, and Sri Lanka. At the most recent eye camp in Sri Lanka, which took place in 2024,volunteers tested the eyes of 1,800 patients, dispensed 2,500 pairs of glasses, and booked 200 patients for cataract surgery.
