Heidelberg’s 22nd International Scientific Symposium (ISS) on ophthalmic imaging will take place on 18–19 September, in Singapore, bringing together ophthalmologists, retina specialists, and retinal surgeons from around the world.
Themed Imaging that Inspires, ISS 2026 (formerly known as the International SPECTRALIS Symposium), will offer an ambitious scientific program featuring internationally renowned speakers and in-depth sessions. The program will address topics including multimodal imaging in neovascular age-related macular degeneration and geographic atrophy, myopia imaging and management, multimodal imaging with high axial resolution optical coherence tomography imaging, artificial intelligence in ophthalmology, and next-generation ocular imaging technologies.
ISS 2026 will examine how imaging contributes to clinical decision-making by providing detailed and actionable information
The symposium will be jointly directed by Professor Tock Han Lim, Senior Consultant at the NHG Eye Institute, Tan Tock Seng Hospital, and Professor Leopold Schmetterer, Scientific Director and Head of Ocular Imaging at SERI, Singapore National Eye Centre.
“Ophthalmic imaging has become a central pillar of both research and clinical practice,” said Prof Schmetterer. “ISS 2026 provides an excellent opportunity to discuss not only technological innovation, but also how imaging can truly empower clinicians by translating data into meaningful clinical insight.”
“Imaging continues to play a central role in the management of retinal disease,” said Prof Lim. “ISS 2026 will examine how imaging contributes to clinical decision-making by providing detailed and actionable information.”
The International Scientific Symposium on Ophthalmic Imaging 2026 will be hosted at the Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa in Singapore. Find out more about ISS 2026 here.
