Australia’s Dr Marianne Coleman, Professor Eric Papas, Dr Grant Hannaford, and Thao Hannaford are among an impressive line-up of international experts, researchers, educators, and practitioners presenting at the 2026 SILMO Academy.
To be held in Bali for the first time, the three-day clinical event is part of an international congress dedicated to visual health, research, and innovation.
The CPD-accredited congress will enable participants to explore, learn, and exchange ideas on key challenges shaping the future of optics and optometry. Supported by numerous regional professional associations, presentations will be structured around five thematic sessions:
- Putting people at the heart of professional practice,
- Healthy aging and presbyopia,
- Enhancing competitiveness in professional practice,
- Light management, and
- Future advances in optometry and optics.
Alongside Dr Coleman, Prof Papas, Dr Hannaford, and Ms Hannaford are speakers including Stephen Caunter and Jason Dhana (New Zealand), Professors Rupert Bourne, David Elliot and Fiona Fylan (UK), Sebastien Brusset (France), Professor Weizhong Lan (China) and Philippe Seira (Switzerland).
