Vitreous floaters are among the most disturbing phenomena from the patient’s perspective, regardless of age.
At the 41st Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) in Hong Kong, Professor Welge-Lüssen from Germany spoke to delegates about invasive and non-invasive options to protect against floaters.
Sponsored by Stiltec, Prof Welge-Lüssen spoke about YAG laser vitreolysis and vitrectomy, but focused on the efficacy of “the newest method… the pharmacological intervention with targeted micronutrients… called VitroCapN”.
Prof Welge-Lüssen spoke about his experience using VitroCapN, explaining its “triple action” and the positive results of a placebo-controlled, double-blind study which reported at least 65% improvement in visual disturbance, a reduction in floaters, an increase in visual comfort and contrast sensitivity, and also an improvement in daily visual experiences.
