The Australasian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (AUSCRS) will host its annual conference on the beautiful Sunshine Coast in Queensland this year.
Themed ‘The Sound of AUSCRS – where innovation, collaboration, and excellence come together in harmony’ – this four-day event will take place from 15-18 July and will include dedicated programs for advanced trainees, doctors, and support staff as well as sponsored dinners and a gala event themed ‘AUSCRS Biennale Carnevale di Venezia’.

Convened by AUSCRS President Dr Jacqueline Beltz and Vice President Dr Andrea Ang, this year’s speaker line-up includes ophthalmologists from Germany, Turkey, the United Kingdom, Spain, France, South Africa, India, the United States, and Australia.
Dr Cathleen McCabe, from the United States, will present the 2026 Barrett/Wolfe Lecture.
Dr McCabe is the Chief Medical Officer at Eye Health America and one of the foremost eye surgeons today, specialising in complex and premium cataract and refractive surgery at The Eye Associates in Sarasota, Florida.
She advances ophthalmic innovation through clinical trials, leadership roles, awards, education, mentorship, and international outreach initiatives worldwide.
AUSCRS Film Festival
Once again, the much sought-after AUSCRS Film Festival trophy is up for grabs to everyone. AUSCRS 2026 Film Festival submissions are now open and will close on Friday 5 June, 2026.
