Ophthalmology Updates! returns to Sydney in September with the promise of being “bigger and better” than ever before. Convened by Professor Adrian Fung, this two-day conference is an excellent opportunity to brush up on common subspecialty topics, hear about new advances in ophthalmology, and ask questions in a friendly atmosphere.
Ophthalmologists, as well as fellows in training, retired fellows, residents, orthoptists, optometrists, and nurses are all invited to attend the conference and the conference dinner at Mel-Gal, Taronga Zoo.

Clara Chan, Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Toronto, Director of Ophthalmology Fellowships, and the President of the Canadian Cornea Society,

Aleksandra Rachitskaya, an Associate Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Case Western Reserve University’s Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine and a member of the vitreoretinal faculty at Cleveland Clinic’s Cole Eye Institute,

Dr Santosh Honavar, an acclaimed ophthalmologist, President of the International Society of Ocular Oncology, Honorary General Secretary of the All India Ophthalmological Society, Director of Medical Services (Centre for Sight Group); Director, Department of Ocular Oncology and Oculoplasty at Centre for Sight, Hyderabad; and Director, National Retinoblastoma Foundation, and
Rachel Niederer, a clinician-scientist who practices as a uveitis and medical retina specialist at Auckland District Health Board and Auckland Eye, and is an Associate Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Auckland.
Subspecialties to be discussed include uveitis, oculoplastics and ocular oncology retina, vitreoretinal surgery, cataract, cornea, glaucoma, neuro-ophthalmology, and paediatrics. Panels will discuss their best and worst cases ever – and what they learned.
