The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO) Council has elected Dr Diana Conrad President-Elect.
Dr Conrad will officially take over the Presidency from Professor Peter McCluskey AO at the 57th RANZCO Congress in Auckland this November.
Dr Conrad is the current Chair of the Australian and New Zealand Eye Foundation Philanthropy Advisory Group. She is a past Director, Vice-President and Honorary Treasurer of RANZCO, past Chair of the Professional Conduct Committee, past RACE examiner and is based in Queensland. Dr Conrad will be RANZCO’s second female President, following Associate Professor Heather Mack AM.

Describing ophthalmology as “the best specialty in medicine” Dr Conrad is looking forward to the opportunity to work with the College and Fellows to ensure RANZCO continues to provide a world class training program and great ophthalmological care. Communication with the membership is a high priority; emphasising the wide range of tasks that the college undertakes on their behalf.
