30,000 Optos Devices Installed

Optos has achieved a major global milestone, installing 30,000 devices worldwide. The company has been in operation for 30 years, progressing retinal imaging and supporting improved patient care worldwide. Its 200-degree ultra-widefield (UWF) retinal imaging technology enables clinicians to visualise and document the retina in ever-evolving ways to elevate patient care.

Alexandre Montague, incoming Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Optos, said, “When clinicians can see more of the retina, they are better equipped to detect and monitor systemic and ocular disease…. It’s not just about improving vision – it’s about protecting health, saving sight, and in many cases, saving lives.”

Optos offers 10 imaging modalities across its platforms that are designed to integrate seamlessly across multiple care settings – in telehealth, optometry, ophthalmology, retina specialty practices, and large multi-site health centres. The technology supports efficient workflows while maintaining the highest standards of diagnostic quality.

Mr Montague was appointed CEO of Optos in early June. He most recently served as CEO of HOYA Vision Care, and prior to that held senior leadership positions at Essilor and ZEISS, building deep expertise across ophthalmic devices, optics, vision care, and medical technology.
