Vision Hospital Group has launched a new information hub to help patients navigate cataract surgery and their treatment options.
With cataract surgery remaining one of Australia’s most common surgical procedures, the new online patient information resource brings together information on cataracts, surgical techniques, intraocular lens (IOL) options, recovery, costs, and frequently asked questions.
It also includes practical guidance for patients preparing for surgery and navigating the post-operative period.
The online guide outlines the range of lens technologies available for cataract surgery, including monofocal, trifocal, extended depth of focus, and toric IOLs, while emphasising the importance of discussing individual visual needs and expectations with an ophthalmologist.
Vision Hospital Group said patient understanding and engagement are “increasingly recognised as important contributors to positive surgical experiences and informed consent”.
“Resources that provide clear, accessible information can help patients better prepare for consultations, ask informed questions, and participate more confidently in decisions about their care.”
