A new range of premium fishing eyewear has been developed by Revo in collaboration with Shimano Australia Fishing.
Developed specifically for anglers and the environments they fish, the collaboration combines the expertise of two brands with long histories of technical innovation – Shimano in fishing tackle and Revo in performance optics.
For more than 100 years, Shimano has built a global reputation for precision engineering across fishing and cycling. In Australia, the company has been part of the fishing landscape for more than four decades, developing and supplying tackle for a market that ranges from light tackle freshwater and estuary fishing through to demanding offshore and game fishing applications.
It’s a sport that requires precision eyewear: Australian anglers regularly contend with intense sunlight, reflected glare, changing light conditions and long days exposed to the elements. Being able to see clearly through surface glare, read changes in the water and maintain visual comfort throughout a session makes quality eyewear an important part of an angler’s equipment.

Born from a Shared Focus
The new collaboration was born from a shared focus on developing eyewear specifically for those conditions.
Shimano brings its understanding of how anglers fish, while Revo brings more than four decades of expertise in lens technology and light management. The resulting eyewear pairs fishing-focused frame design with Revo’s advanced multi-layer lens technology, engineered to manage glare and harsh light while enhancing contrast and clarity on the water.
For Revo, the partnership represents an important milestone:
“In Revo’s 41-year history, few collaborations have carried the significance of this one,” said Jimmy P Hendriks, Director, Revo Australia. “Shimano’s reputation, technical heritage and connection with anglers around the world make this an incredibly important partnership for us. We’re very proud to bring Revo’s lens expertise to eyewear developed specifically for the fishing market.”
For Shimano Australia Managing Director Chad Rodgers, entering the premium eyewear category meant finding a partner capable of meeting the same expectations placed on Shimano’s fishing tackle.
“We take the Shimano name and what it represents to anglers very seriously. When we put that name on a product, we want to be confident in its quality, its performance and the value it brings to someone on the water.
“Revo has an extraordinary history in lens technology and shares our focus on continual refinement and technical performance,” said Chad Rodgers, Managing Director of Shimano Australia. “Bringing their optical expertise together with our understanding of Australian anglers made this partnership a natural fit.”
Mr Rodgers said the response to the collaboration following its Australian launch had reinforced the importance of taking that approach.
“Australian anglers know their gear and they’re not afraid to put it through its paces. We wanted to create something that would stand alongside the rods, reels and tackle carrying the Shimano name and feel like it belonged there.
“We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve created with Revo, and equally excited about where this partnership can go from here.”
