Miniject is iSTAR Medical’s innovative minimally invasive glaucoma surgery device for patients with open-angle glaucoma.
Miniject combines the distinctive porous structure of its proprietary Star material with the power offered by the supraciliary space. As a result, it is designed to enhance physiological fluid outflow, reducing intraocular pressure (IOP) and the need for medication, while bio-integrating with surrounding tissue, limiting inflammation, fibrosis, and subsequent complications.
Five-year follow-up results demonstrate sustained, meaningful, mean IOP reduction of 38% to 14.8 mmHg, with 85% of patients using the same or fewer medications. In addition, 55.3% of patients had IOP≤15 mmHg and 83% of patients achieved ≥20% IOP reduction from baseline at five-year follow up.1
