Patients experiencing mild to moderate dry eye disease can be referred to the Australian College of Optometry (ACO) Eye Health’s dedicated Dry Eye Disease Clinic – the only public health clinic of its kind.
Based in the Melbourne suburb of Carlton, this service provides comprehensive assessments and tailored management strategies to help alleviate the burden of this chronic condition, at lower cost than can be offered in traditional optometry settings.
Led by optometrists with specialised training in dry eye, the clinic uses advanced diagnostic tools such as the Oculus Keratograph K5 and anterior segment imaging to assess ocular surface health. Patients receive a personalised treatment plan incorporating in-clinic therapies such as LipiFlow and meibomian gland expression, alongside guidance on at-home management strategies.
