Miniject is iSTAR Medical’s innovative minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) device for patients with open-angle glaucoma.
Miniject combines the distinctive porous structure of its proprietary STAR material with the power offered by the supraciliary space. It is designed to enhance physiological fluid outflow, reducing intraocular pressure (IOP) and the need for medication, while bio-integrating with surrounding tissue, limiting inflammation, fibrosis, and subsequent complications.
Five-year follow-up results demonstrate sustained, meaningful, mean IOP reduction of 38% to 14.8 mmHg, with 85% of patients using the same or fewer medications. In addition, 55.3% of patients had IOP≤15 mmHg and 83% of patients achieved ≥20% IOP reduction from baseline at five-year follow up.1
