ZEISS’ Gail Giordani Steps Down

After 27 years with ZEISS, Gail Giordani is stepping down from her role as ZEISS General Manager Vision Care Australia and New Zealand.

Ms Giordani joined the company in South Africa in 1999. After progressing through a series of senior leadership positions, she relocated to Australia in 2021 to lead the Vision Care business across ANZ.

In a statement, ZEISS said Ms Giordani would “begin a new chapter in semi-retirement” and paid tribute to her strategic leadership, commercial expertise, and customer focus.

“During her time in Australia and New Zealand, she worked closely with eye care professionals to support practice growth, champion innovation, and reinforce ZEISS’ position as a trusted partner to optometrists and optical retailers throughout the region.

“Beyond her business achievements, Gail has been a passionate mentor and leader whose commitment to excellence and developing people has left a lasting impact on colleagues, customers and the broader optical community.”

Ms Giordani said it has been an “incredible privilege” to work with ZEISS for more than two decades, and that she begins her next chapter “with enormous pride in what we have achieved together and complete confidence in the future of ZEISS”.
