ZEISS will host a free one-hour webinar next month examining the science behind its MyoActive spectacle lens, along with the latest developments in ocular biometry for children with myopia.
To be presented by Dean Psarakis, ZEISS Optical Product and Training Specialist and Professor Padmaja Sankaridurg, the webinar titled, ‘Is myopic defocus enough? Dynamic signals, ZEISS MyoActive and Biometry’, will be held on Monday 19 October 2026 from 6.00pm to 7.00pm AEDT. CPD accreditation has been applied for with Optometry Australia Institute of Excellence.

ZEISS MyoActive is described by the company as the first spectacle lens designed to deliver a dynamic retinal signal, in contrast to the static myopic defocus approach used by existing myopia management lens designs. The webinar will unpack the rationale behind this approach and present 12-month clinical results which, according to ZEISS, demonstrate the highest efficacy outcomes reported to date for a myopia management spectacle lens.
The program will also turn to biometry, with a look at recent advances in axial length measurement and how these can be used to support clinical decision-making and monitor progression in young myopic patients.
