Essilor Xperio The Polarised Experience

Essilor, the world’s leading manufacturer of spectacle lenses, has launched its Xperio brand, which integrates Essilor’s superior polarising portfolio with a strong brand experience and communication for the patient.

In launching the brand the company said: “Xperio polarised lenses bring together the very best designs and materials from Essilor: Xperio will support Essilor’s polarised offer and the portfolio of existing and successful brands such as Varilux, Airwear and Crizal.”

Essilor says Xperio polarised lenses are superior to ordinary tints with benefits including glare reduction, natural-colour enhancement, 100 per cent UVA/UVB protection, unmatched clarity of vision as well as superior scratch resistance. A recent clinical study measuring driver reaction times for Xperio polarised lenses versus ordinary tinted lenses concluded that driver reaction times were reduced by one third of a second with Xperio lenses.

Essilor’s new Xperio lenses provide practitioners with a great opportunity to grow their practices by offering a second pair for outdoor activities and driving to every patient.

“Most importantly, practitioners now have access to strong, contemporary patient communication materials explaining and promoting the wear of polarised lenses, just in time for the summer season. In most developed countries, only 12 per cent of patients have a pair of lenses especially for outdoors. Fewer than seven per cent use polarised lenses, which makes it an enormous opportunity,” says Anne Guethoff, Marketing Manager at Essilor Australia.
