Hoya Lens and Younger Optics have joined forces to produce what is described as “the latest in Premium Polarised Prescription lenses”.
Hoya says it has combined its advanced digital surfacing and coating technology with NuPolar polarised technology to release a range of single vision ‘Hoya NuPolar’ lenses.
“These polarised lenses block out 100 per cent of the sun’s harmful UVA and UVB rays and intense glare,” the company says.
The effects of glare can be very extreme on everyday vision and can cause eye fatigue from squinting, or can completely block vision.
Polarised lenses enhance the most important function of prescription eyewear: improvement of visual acuity. Hoya points out that regular tinted lenses simply reduce the amount of visible light; they do little to eliminate glare.
“It is the result of polarised lenses’ ability to block blinding glare that makes these lenses the best solution for everyday outdoor visual needs,” the company says.
The ‘Hoya NuPolar’ product launch began last month with a road-show travelling to each Australian capital city and Auckland, New Zealand.
