A new Acting President for the Australian College of Behavioural Optometrists (ACBO) has been announced following the untimely and tragic death of President Sue Larter. Ms. Larter died early in April while holidaying in the South Pacific.
Adrian Bell has taken the reigns of ACBO until this month (June) when members will elect a new Board. In a letter written to ACBO members, he implored members be actively involved in the association.
“Sue’s drive and enthusiasm for ACBO and optometry is already missed as the remaining ACBO Board members and Veronica, our office manager, try to put the pieces together.
“You will soon receive by mail, election material and information about proposed changes to our constitution that need to be voted on. The election for Board Members must be completed in June in preparation for the Annual General Meeting in August when we gather for the National ACBO Conference in Sydney. I challenge you and encourage you to get involved in your College. ACBO is only as strong and vibrant as its membership. Please take care to read the material you receive and give ACBO all the support you can,” he said.
