Hoya Signs Anti-Static Coating Agreement

Carl Zeiss Vision has licensed its coating technology to Hoya Vision Care Company under the Australian Patent 781,979.

The ‘979 patent describes transparent anti-reflection coatings applied to ophthalmic lenses which are anti-static and have at least one electrically conductive layer.

“Technology innovation has always been a key to the success of Carl Zeiss Vision, and the anti-reflection coating technology covered by our ‘979 patent is an essential part of Carl Zeiss Vision’s cutting edge solutions to the manufacture of quality ophthalmic lenses,” said Joe Redner, Carl Zeiss Vision’s Managing Director, Australasia. “We’re pleased to share our coating technology with Hoya via this license.”

Carl Zeiss and Hoya are also exploring other licensing initiatives in various technology areas.
