One of the annual highlights of Silmo is the SILMO d’OR awards – the event’s International Awards for Technology and Fashion, which this year will be presented by the designer behind the French brand Stella Cadente. These awards showcase creativity and innovation in eight different categories: sports equipment, children’s frames, sunglasses, optical frames, low vision/optical instrument, vision: lenses /contact lenses, frames /technological innovation, material/ equipment.
Silmo Academy is another highlight. The annual scientific forum, themed “refraction” will feature a symposium enhanced by lectures and technical /practical workshops reserved for groups of up to 40 participants.
On a more business related note, Silmo will offer a merchandising workshop to introduce all optical professionals to merchandising techniques, and teach them the tricks and tips of store design and layout. The workshop will be delivered by recognised coaches and merchandising experts.
News of Silmo, which last year attracted almost 35,000 visitors from around the world, will be communicated via three editions of MO. The digital magazine dedicated to eyewear trends will be available online and
on TV screens at the fair.
