Isson’s frame ‘Isamu in Ink’ is part of the brand’s stainless illustration optical collection, which features shapes more commonly seen in a vintage frame, and normally crafted in acetate.
Instead, designer Catherine Federici chose to use Japanese stainless steel and bold colours.
The frame forms part of Isson’s 10th anniversary collection, and like the entire optical collection is largely inspired by contemporary European architecture and industrial design.
“This is a continual journey of playing with new shapes, forms and materials, the combination of which leads to a somewhat diverse range of styles”, said Federici. “Some of the designs in the optical range are probably not wearable by many people, but I made them anyway. They are part of the ISSON design story and they set a tone for where we are in seeking to create a particular signature in the market,” she added.
