Rich colours, texture and intense detail characterise these gorgeous frames, which are created by laminating fabrics.
“There is a special skill in laminating fabrics for eyewear that I learnt from Dr. Rossi at Mazzuchelli in Italy in the 1980s. We worked together on developing a system of interlayer, to make sure the fabrics wouldn’t delaminate. This came after some experimentation and it was such a thrill when the system worked
out and it was stable,” Jono told mivision.
“The wonderful thing about using fabrics in eyewear is their colour and intensity – the texture is vibrant, and compared to a printed acetate, it just doesn’t feel the same in detail and depth of colour.”
