The Optos California device can help general ophthalmologists and vitreoretinal specialists discover more evidence of disease and guide their treatment decisions even more effectively. According to Optos it is the first retinal imaging device to offer ultra-widefield indocyanine green (ICG) angiography, in addition to colour, autofluorescence and fluorescein angiography.
In a statement Optos claims, “taking advantage of the latest imaging technology, the California is the most comprehensive ultra-widefield retinal imaging device on the market. With views of up to 82 per cent or 200 degrees of the retina, eye care professionals can see 50 per cent more of the retina compared to other imaging devices”.
