With the 2015 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race just around the corner, the crew of Perpetual Loyal has announced it has partnered with Maui Jim sunglasses for this major event on the global sailing calendar.
As part of the partnership, Maui Jim has fitted out the entire crew and the celebrities joining them for the race. The celebrities include cricketer, Michael Clarke; NRL legend, Anthony Minichello; Footy Show host and sports journalist, Erin Molan; and Rugby Union greats, Kurtley Beale and Phil Waugh.
Speaking of the partnership, Anthony Bell, owner and skipper of Perpetual Loyal said, “Ocean glare can often lead to eye fatigue, and when you are out on the open water, sailing in strong weather conditions, this is the last thing you need.”
He said partnering with Maui Jim “will assist our crew by helping to eliminate some of the environmental issues that can affect crews when racing in rough conditions”.
Maui Jim’s PolarisedPlus2 lens technology blocks 100 per cent of UV rays and eliminates 99.9 per cent of glare reflected off the ocean. Additionally, according to Maui Jim, it enhances colour, clarity and depth perception.
