Maui Jim will be an official partner and the official eyewear of the Australian Open of Surfing, which will take place this month, from 27 February – 6 March, at Manly Beach in Sydney.
The Australian Open of Surfing is the biggest surfing tournament on Australian soil, attracting the sport’s best from across the world. International Big Wave Surfer and Maui Jim ambassador, Mark Visser will conduct a meet and greet session at the Maui Jim marquee on the final day of the Open.
Maui Jim’s marquee will have a prime ocean view position on the beach throughout the tournament where it will showcase, and retail over 200 different styles, the largest range of Maui Jim sunglasses anywhere in Australia. In true Aloha Spirit, Maui Jim will entertain guests with regular performances by Hawaiian dancers.
Born on the beaches of Maui, Hawaii, Maui Jim has a long tradition of being popular with surfers. Amongst its drawcard features for the surfing community is its patented PolarisedPlus2 lens technology which eliminates 99.9 per cent of glare, such as that reflected off the surf. Additionally, Maui Jim says, these lenses enhance colour, clarity and depth perception, and block 100 per cent of harmful UV rays.
Nathan Fisher, Maui Jim Director Marketing APAC & Middle East, “We’re very excited to be the official eyewear partner of the Australian Open of Surfing in 2016. The surfing community and those in and around the ocean are some of our biggest advocates so it’s a great chance for us to enhance our relationship with those already passionate about the brand, and reach potential new supporters. We’re looking forward to showing off our new styles and the brilliance that comes with them.”
Over 225,000 people are expected to visit the Australian Open of Surfing.
